Hello all! I’m Neil, and I am presently employed with a major international firm as a management consultant having just completed my MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
It wasn’t long after I started my first consulting engagement that I realized how easy it is to neglect self-care when logging 70-hour workweeks. I love to cook and I religiously go to the gym every week, but I realized both of those became a challenge with how busy I was at work, but there are surprisingly few resources out there.
There are ample resources online (not to mention entire MBA programs) dedicated to helping people get into consulting. At the same time, I didn’t see anything on making consulting a sustainable profession. It’s unsurprising because consulting is unsustainable for most people for exactly that reason: consultants find themselves neglecting self-care and their personal relationships in favor of work.
With that in mind, I hope to use this blog as a means to share recipes (as well as occasional lifestyle philosophies) to help make getting through the week as a consultant (as another professional who logs long hours) a bit more feasible.
